Mamboleo Youth Project is a UK Registered Charity and a Kenyan Community Based Organisation (CBO) in Kisumu in Western Kenya.
It is first of all a home for 26 orphaned and vulnerable children aged between 6 and 17 years old. 13 of them no longer have or see relatives and without our care, educational support and guidance they simply would live on the streets, abused, exploited, unable to access healthcare, education and protection. We are committed to give them a future and open doors for them.
"As of January 2017, we have 15 youngsters in secondary education, 11 have started Form 2 and the others have just joined Form 1. 9 of them are at boarding schools due to their good results at KCPE (Kenyan Certificate of Primary Education). It is expensive to keep all these children in education and we are in search of kind sponsors. It costs on average £500 a year to keep a child in a boarding school and half that in a day school. Would you consider giving the gift that keeps on giving; education? " Ahmed Khan, Chair of Trustees.
"We also have far reaching dreams to train the local youth who have left school early without skills and to provide health and life-skills information to the community at large. We want Mamboleo Youth Project to become a hive of activities aimed at taking young people out of poverty and at the same time at encouraging them to give something back to the centre so that it can become sustainable and shine like a beacon of help for generations to come. We would love to have your support, thank you." Annie O'Connor, Trustee
